Wander was created through a combination of serendipitous introductions and timing. Everyone in the creative team all happen to know or has once worked with one another. The idea of making a more engaging city guide was what drew us to work together.
The creative team selects possible concepts to highlight and who best represents that from the local community. Through the making of the guides, I was able to meet interesting locals who introduced me to charming pockets of their neighborhoods, and the independent businesses that have become the heart of the community. The concepts of what makes a more livable and dynamic city was made visible to me.
Our first issue features Manila City. It is significant to introduce our guide with Manila because it holds fragments of the city’s evolution in one space: the weathered colonial forts and churches, the Commonwealth era architecture in the old business district, to the arts and leisure centers that have sprung out in recent years.
The second issue is a collaboration with CITEM for Design Week Philippines. It features 100 design ideas spanning graphic design, photography, food, architecture, urban design and art.
Our latest is with the DOT for the APEC Meet in November 2015, featuring interesting places in Makati and The Fort-BGC such as art spaces, great dining experiences and other places to unwind.
