"Asian Creatives: 150 Emerging Talents in Art, Design, Illustration and Photography" is one of the projects I feel very fortunate to be part of. I'm happy to help write the stories of people I very much admire: Team Manila Design Studio co-founders Joey Alviar and Mon Punzalan, and illustrator-designer Dan Matutina. These accomplished and talented guys have done so much to help bring together and promote the local design community.
This book is a project of ubies.net, an online platform for creatives to showcase their work. Together with its co-founder Mikiharu Yabe, he conducted the interviews while I find the most compelling perspective for their stories. We share their beginnings, career highs, present business philosophies, and of course, their hopes for the local design community. Apart from the articles on Team Manila and Dan, the section for the Philippines also features other design studios and artists.
I recommend this book as a great introduction and overview to Asia’s contemporary creative scene. Hope you get to check it out. :)
